Family
Tonight my daughter had a request for supper. Chicken Fajitas. I love it when my family makes requests so then I don't have to think about what I am going to make for supper. My sister joined us so it was a full table. I had this recipe from a E-mealz menu from 2010. I love the versatility of e-mealz and it helps to have a whole folder of meals at my fingertips.

week 5
1. I visited three of the libraries. Appleton, Charlotte NC, and Denver Teen Spot. I found that Denver offered the most amount of information on their account; too much in fact.
2. I felt that Appleton had the least amount of information on their account and I guess I'm not sure how effective "surfacing" information is to the general public.
3. I think that MySpace or Facebook could become a tool for our library. I'm not sold on the idea of just having some basic information on our account and our patrons would flock to our page.
4. I'm not ready to create an account on Facebook. I had a difficult time finding other libraries on MySpace. I have serious reservations on how you would involve your patron to become your friend and why would they feel MySpace would be the go-to place for getting information and answers to your questions?
Final thoughts; I think MySpace and Facebook has it place in life; but I don't think I'm ready to go there yet.

Week 3 Remember the Milk and Jott
I added a task to RTM and looked at Jott. I've learned that there is so much that is offered on the Web that it is mind boggling! Wow! I think there is amazing potential for these two programs.
I think that there is potential to use these programs at the library, but I think it is overwhelming to someone who has never been exposed to this. I might use these things on a personal level, but I'm not sure how much I would use for my job at the library. I'll need to explore this more.
I think it is amazing the amount of material that is offered for free. Someone has done the hard work and we get to use these tools to better our life, to help us in the craziness. A little overwhelming!
Week 2 Googe I docs
I have played with Google idoc and feel that there is great potential for the library staff. You could work on budgeting, making a poster, having a spreadsheet to track how much has been spent for each account. The potential is huge. Well, I'm off to another week!

Semester 2 Week 1
I'm a little behind on my posts. I have found IM'ing to be a little challenging. I put a widget on my blog which is nice. I'm a little confused on having to have Meebo open so that I can see what people have IM me. I guess new things throw me off a little bit! Onto better things!

Week 10-12
Thanks for the experience of blogs, flicker, del.icio.us, library thing. I definitely have expanded my knowledge of what is on the web and so much more.
At our library, we have began to use our existing blog for communicating. It is a valuable tool if used. I would like to experiment with Wiki. We are getting a new computer at home that has the potential to use these tools more. I think my favorite week was Library thing. I liked adding books and plan on using that tool more. I have signed up for 2nd semester and I'm looking forward to learning more!
The process...hmm. I would love to see two weeks for each lesson but I realize that probably wouldn't work; it would make for a very long semester. It has affected me because there is so much potential on the Internet if used in the right way. I really liked learning new things but I also realize I might need another class just to learn the basics. Thanks for a great 1st semester and onto the next!

Week 9!
Well, I think I've completed the 1st semester. Yippee.
I found New London on Wikipedia, and I put in a direct link to the New London Library with Ann's help.
I think a wiki could work for discussions that I have with other librarians. It could provide central information and still be a working document. I am planning on setting up a wiki for my family as they aren't always accessible by phone.
